Cryptocurrency Fundamentals
The course gives investigators a foundational, tool-agnostic grounding in how cryptocurrency and blockchain actually work — covering core terminology, wallets and keys, how transactions and blockchains function, and the actors, entities, and illicit typologies investigators encounter in the field. We'll walk through crypto and blockchain basics, how to recognize crypto artifacts and address formats in a case, the major entities in the ecosystem (exchanges, mixers, DeFi, stablecoins), and why blockchain intelligence matters for financial-crimes investigations. There's nothing required of attendees beforehand — no prior technical or crypto knowledge needed, just curiosity and a willingness to learn.
